Bio:

Thad is cute little Chiweenie -  a small sweetie! We are unsure of his care before the shelter, but he seems to be quiet the snuggler! He is energetic at times and loves to go for a ride! He does ok on a leash, but we are working on this! He is going outside for most of his bathroom needs but has accidents sometimes! He does like to bark and sometimes chases after larger dogs! (small dog syndrome)!! He does pretty well with small dogs! He has not had a problem with one small dog yet! I can’t say how good he is with small kids but the little girl that lives next door (approx. 2yrs old) comes to the fence and pets him through the fence! He sits there and lets her do it! I am working on socializing him but he will need someone to have patience with him on this! He does get jealous of other animals sometimes! He couldn’t stand for me to pet my lab instead of him but I think he will do fine in a house with another dog.. cats really unsure of this because he hasn’t been around any! He loves to go OUTSIDE! I have a fenced yard and he stays out there for a good while sometimes! I will update as soon as I can think of more to write! 

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
