Tinker is a tiny little senior girl who was found as a stray on the streets in Georgia. We saw her in the shelter and knew we had to save her. Tinker is missing her left eye and it appears to have been removed by a medical professional because the lid has been closed and is very well healed. She functions normally even with her disability. Tinker is very sweet to the people she knows and becomes attached to but is very fearful with strangers if the people she knows and trusts are not there to comfort her. Because of this she is not a candidate for a volunteer transport and will have to picked up directly from her foster home by her adopter. Tinker has a minor special need and that is she will need to go to a home with a fenced in yard. She is terrified by any type of harness or collar being around her body and is not a candidate for being walked. Tinker loves to sleep in the warm sunshine in the backyard and every morning she rolls around on the carpet to wake herself and get ready to face the day. We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
