BIO:  
My name is Ginger and I’m just a bundle of fun.  I love to be outside almost as much as I love to lay on your lap.  I am a very good girl and listen very well.  When my foster parents tell me “in the bed”, I know exactly what they mean.  I go right into my comfy kennel for the night.  I also know that night time is quiet time.  I will be oh so patient and sleep until you come and get me in the morning, I promise.  I love to walk next to you so please be careful that you don’t kick me.  
I don’t mean to get in your way, but I just want to be close to you.  I come when you call me, but if you happen to forget and leave a gate open I just might have to go explore outside of the yard.  I kinda forgot what “recall” was when I snuck out the fence at my foster parent’s home.  Boy did they seem worried and I forgot to come when I was called.  I suggest you keep the gates closed, or we will be playing hide and seek.  
I am looking for a home that has a fenced in yard.  I would not do well as only a leash walker because I love laying in the sun on the deck and soak up the rays.  A home with a fenced in yard where I can spend my days is a must!  My foster family thinks I’ve been the perfect fit here with them and their 2 doxies.  Do you think maybe I will be the perfect fit with you?  To give me a furever home, please fill out an adoption application today!

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
