BIO:

Daphne is a spunky gorgeous double dapple long haired mini chocolate doxie. Her personality speaks for itself! Daphne was pulled from death row at New York City Animal Care & Control. Her condition and health at the time speaks to her rough life previously. But NOTHING affects this little girl’s joyous demeanor and the love she exudes from every long hair on her body! She is fearless, loyal and most of all VERY affectionate. She is so appreciative to be with people and loves to be held like a true lapdog. She is an excellent walker, enjoys the outdoors and has very good leash manners. People often mistake Daphne for a puppy because she is so small and cute and exudes the energy of a puppy! Not a person walks by her without exclaiming how cute she is!

Daphne is a fearless girl! She is inquisitive and loves to explore and gets along well with cats & dogs. She has no fear of people or animals and is very friendly with children. I am amazed by her tenacity to urge our cat to play even though he wants nothing to do with her. She is a senior dog, and has lost most of her teeth so she needs a very special human to give her VERY attentive care and love. She eats raw and cooked homemade food with natural supplements to aid her in her digestion. Canned food is simply too complex for her stomach and she has thrived on this homemade diet. Her hair is silky and her eyes are clear since she has been on this diet. She would require her human to feed this too her 2x a day and a small meal before bedtime. She loves to get brushed daily and fussed over. She is an excellent kisser as well!

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
