BIO: 
Well as you’ve probably figured out by now; I am not a dachshund! Yes, I am a Chihuahua which is rather unusual for a little guy like me to be with a dachshund rescue but you see I was sitting on death row, scheduled to be put down when one of FDR’s volunteers saw me and couldn’t leave me to die. So I got a second chance at life and now I am looking for a first chance to be with a loving family.
I know all the things you’ve probably heard about Chihuahua’s but that is just a stereotype. I am not your average Chi and I can prove it. I am extremely high energy and playful with dogs my own size. I don’t mind big dogs either but playing with them has posed a bit of a challenge because most of the time I can only reach their ankles. I love to snuggle in the “Big Bed” (just like my dachshund friends) and I love to play with dachshunds too!
I am not aggressive in any way and have not displayed any signs of food or toy aggression. I am crate trained and I walk very well on a leash. I love it when my foster family gets home because I dance and prance and play. I don’t mind wearing my winter sweater either, it keeps me toasty warm and I think I look rather dapper in it. My foster mom says that I am the nicest, sweetest, Chihuahua she has ever met and I have to agree with her.
So now I am looking for a loving home. It’s a long shot because I know most of you are looking for a dachshund but I swear to you that I am just as nice and sweet and that I will love you forever. Please adopt me!

We encourage adopters from all over the Greater New England Area and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
