Bean - RI

Bean is doing very well. He is getting big- almost 9 lbs already at 4 months - so much for being the runt of the litter!! He gets along well with his cat brother and sister and loves his Doxie brother Joey. But most of all he loves the attention and cuddling from my daughter and I. He is a love bug who loves nothing more than to be held, kisses, and a great bone or squeak toy! We love having Bean, Beaner, Beanie Baby as part of our family! Our boy has many nick names! This is my daughter, neighbor and Bean. ~ Karen

Bo - SC

We didn’t last long as a dog-free house. We missed our 14 year old golden retriever too darn much to come home to an empty house. This is Spenser. Spenser is a 7 month old long-haired Dachshund from South Carolina. He was rescue from a high-kill shelter. We have a family friend who is a dog lover and doxie foster in Clemson, SC for Furever Dachshund Rescue. She posted his picture (he was named Bo) and the “we need to get this dog” campaign began.
We drove the 13 hours from Buffalo to Clemson on a Saturday and returned on Sunday. We decided to rename him when I read that it’s a bad idea to name dogs Mo or Snow or Beau, because it’s too close to No and confuses them. I came up with Spenser after the Robert B Parker detective. One of my favorite character from one of my favorite authors. I had some selling to do on the name, but my entire potential name list was pronounced nerdy by my daughter and my husband was convinced that every name that I came up with after Spenser was an attempt to come up with something even worse so that he would agree to Spenser. He looks like a Spenser though, doesn’t he?
Spenser fit right into our home, quickly learning his name and some basic commands. He staked out the chair in the front window as his favorite spot, sunning himself and watching the world go by. Spenser loves walks, challenging toys and belly rubs. He has never met a dog he doesn't like and loves to play with furry friends of any size, especially some local doxie buddies and his cousin Lexi who lives at the lake.
Spenser is quite a character and makes us laugh every day. He even has his own twitter account and you can follow him @spenserthedog.

Buddy - RI

The MINUTE I saw Buddy...my heart stopped. His sweet tender eyes, the
sadness in his face, his red cajun hair, his iguana neck, his short
buffalo chicken wing legs...This dog was for me. EVERYTHING I've ever
wanted in a wiener dog, in a companion. I remember I was at the library
studying for a federal law midterm, and I forgot everything about that
exam and started filling in the application in order to adopt him.
Two months later, I got a phone call. I was chosen to adopt Buddy. I
cried that night. I was overjoyed.

Buddy is very happy. We walk 2-3 times a day right by the Rideau Canal in
Ottawa. When I say it's time for a walk, he starts bouncing and running
like a child! He loves to be in my arms - I love it even more! He can
also stay in his cage if I need to do my groceries. He never barks, he is
so sweet and calm. He does his business outside like a big boy, and always
gets a treat afterward. He is the love of my life and is
the ONLY one. Just Buddy and I in Ottawa, being fabulous! :) - Virginia

Bailey - SC

From the first day we had Arthur he has been a friendly lovable little boy. He was just a little timid the first day or so ... But has really come out of his shell, to say the least :) He loves to chew on anything he can get his mini paws on, so we made sure to get a bunch of hard  puppy toys to keep him occupied, which he loves. We're working on things like not chewing on furniture (and human fingers) and we know it's just a matter of time before he knows what to chew and what not to. Were also starting puppy training classes next week to help him learn, and to help us know the best way to handle different behavior. He had ONE accident the first night in his new home, but since then has been so good letting us know when he needs to go out, he sits right at the door! Even when he is somewhere new, he goes right to the door.
Arthur definitely gets a lot of his energy out by playing with the other dachshund  in the house, Gilligan. Gill is 4 and is SO good and patient with Arthur, he plays along with him most of the time and let's him know when to cool it. They go for walks together at the park sometimes, and Arthur is really doing a great job walking with the leash. By the end of the day, they're usually cuddling right next to each other with us on the couch :)
Ryan and I had been looking around for a few months for a puppy before we discovered Arthur. We both are so happy that we waited and found the perfect addition to the family! ~ Jenna

Bambi - VA

Bambi is doing wonderful... she's truly a joy to have in our home. She bonded to me right away and LOVES snuggling and playing. Our oldest dog Allie doesn't play so much, but our 6 year old Abby will play with her all day. They chase each other back and forth around the bedrooms, it's adorable. I attached a few pictures of Bambi - a few of her with her new sisters, one of her sleeping in my arms and one of her snuggled up to my boyfriend (she LOVES him). She's sleeping in most of the pics because when she's awake she zips around so much she comes out as a little blur. She's the sweetest little dog and I'm so happy I came across her on Facebook! - Danielle
