Lyza

Lyza had some health issues and experienced five seizures, but that didn't deter Lisa from loving and adopting our Lyza! Here is what Lisa says about Lyza now. We got her blood test results and everything came back normal. The Vet said she is in good health and doesn't need to go back until the Fall (unless of course she needs to go back for something unexpected, but i'm confident Lyza is in great health!). She is doing wonderful. She runs around the yard as if she was a greyhound running a race. It's so funny! She has also destroyed almost every toy we got her so far. Petco suggested giving her the non-edible bone that you see in the picture, but she's already doing a number on that. She has amazing strength with her teeth! I'd like to thank everyone who participated and volunteered to bring these wonderful animals to homes where they will be loved. I know that we are thrilled to have Lyza join our family and it was possible because of your kindness to these wonder animals. I'd like to particularly thank DeeAnn for taking such good care of Lyza! Happy Holidays everyone!!

Lily - SC

First of all, “Thanks” to Furever Dachshund Rescue and Facebook, because without them this story would have never happened. Lili landed (literally at D/FW Airport) into my arms on October 16th. She was a little skittish coming out of the crate, but after a bit of coaxing she finally hopped out and landed in my lap. Once she made it home, within a few hours she became the Alpha dog over the other two Dachshunds we have. In no time, she was romping and playing with them and having a ball. I take her to work with me at least twice a week and she has been known to sleep on the corner of my desk from time to time. When I take her for a walk she leads like she’s the Queen of the Neighborhood! I introduced her to my 2 little granddaughters’ and we ended up at the pet store that afternoon getting pictures made. I could go on and on about her and her antics. There’s never a shortage of kisses from her…. I lost my best friend, Biskit, about a year and a half ago and it was one of the worst things I have ever gone through. Lili has helped to ease that pain tremendously. I’ve had so many friends and family that have met her and have fallen for her just like I did. She is such a little angel and I feel that our finding each other was meant to be. We even share the SAME birthday!!! We couldn’t be happier!!! God Bless, Chris

Louey aka Jethro

Louey came to us as a foster and we just couldn’t let him go. He arrived at the right time. We lost our 14 year old Bassett Hound about a week after Louey arrived. His foster daddy said one night shortly after he arrived “Louey you want to stay with us furever, don’t you?” The little guy gave him the signature kick that means love me more. It was then decided that he was going to be ours. His daddy made constant excuses why he needed to stay with us and not be adopted out. First, our other doxie furbaby would be lonely without another dog in the house when we were out. Then he barks a lot and other people might not like a dog that barks a lot so we needed to keep him. Plus he is good at keeping the geese that swim up to our yard off the horseshoe pits. Next he has horrible scars where he was attacked at some time. No one would want him because he has those scars. The truth was that his daddy was very attached to him right off the start. So now this adorable little furboy is ours! He is sooo happy. He wakes up with us and his brother ready to take on a new day each morning. He goes on walks routinely, goes to work with Momma, helps Daddy in the yard, does security detail at the front door and does not allow any birds or squirrels to get into the fenced yard. He now has a forever home and family that loves him. He’ll never be hurt again.
